INTRODUCTION ABOUT PUBLIC RELATION
Non-governmental organizations need healthy public relations to meet their goals and use sophisticated public-relations campaigns to raise funds and deal with governments. Interest groups may be politically important, influencing social and political outcomes. A code of ethics was established in 2002 by the World Association of Non-Governmental Organisations. Public relations serve to establish and maintain a climate conducive to communication, understanding, and cooperation between an organisation and its public.
WHAT IS THE MAIN PURPOSE OF PR TO THE ENTITY OR INDUSTRY?
Trust in organizations is at an all-time low. Seemingly every data point to a breakdown in the relationship between individuals and government, business, non-governmental organisations, and media. The rationale is well rehearsed. The root of the issue lies in the pursuit of financial gain over social purpose. The issue has become acute because stakeholders are able to engage with organisations in new ways thanks to digital media. Organisations and their leaders are being publicly called to account. There’s a change afoot within organisations and calls on the public relations profession to step up to the task of helping organisations to define their purpose in a way that is meaningful to society.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO THE ENTITY OR INDUSTRY?
(NON _ GOVERNMENT ORGANISATION)
The first and foremost function of public relations which is considered very important is the medium of communication that it provides a means of communication between the company and all potential customers. All the information which the company wants to circulate to the desired public comes under the functioning of the public relation department. This provides a very convenient two-way communication process between the professionals handling the public relations department of the company and the general public. In today’s market competition is very tough and every organisation needs to work hard to satisfy their customer wants. Branding of the organisation is one of the importance of public relations. In today's time, customers are moving towards the brand to increase their reputation and status in society and so, therefore they all want to use the best out of all. And if an organisation is not working towards its marketing strategy and then it stands nowhere in the competition.
Public relation has a very effective role in creating a good brand and reputation for the organisation in the market because all the information regarding the products and services of the organisation are being circulated through public relations in the market.
CONCLUSION
In conclusion, public relations is difficult to define because of its all-encompassing nature and the fact that are many variables that must be considered. As we have seen in the various definitions of public relations simply stated it is all about formulating and maintaining relationships between a company and its public. Understanding and knowing these publics or groups of people is what complicates matters relative to public relations. Moreover, each of these publics has its own personal opinions, beliefs, ethnicity, etc., which makes matters even more difficult for an organization. So not only are organizations having to deal with varied groups of people, but they must interact with the public in many different manners and approaches. Given all this, arriving at a comprehensive, all-inclusive definition becomes rather complex.
